Run Terminal commands outside application?

MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz, 4 GB DDR3, 250 GB HDD, 10.6.4
I'm wondering if there's a way to run terminal commands without actually opening Terminal. It's not that much of a hassle, but for a simple "killall Dock" I don't really want to open the whole thing up. It's not a huge problem, but I'm just curious.

Sure, you could do that in a number of ways, but Automator is probably the easiest. I've attached a simple application that will prompt you for a command and execute it. It doesn't even output the result of the command (the nature of your example doesn't require it), but you can easily edit it in Automator and out a method for output if you desire.

Edit: You could also save this as a service and assign a keyboard shortcut so that you could run a single command quickly whenever you need to.
