In Apple Mail ver. 2.1.3 on OS 10.4.11, I was changing email services, so added one IMAP account, and deleted the old POP account. Who would imagine that in addition to deleting the earlier account definition, the program would eliminate all of my email messages from that account????
I tried to "import messages" and didn't readily see where they might be.
I have not closed the program, and have not emptied the trash can (although it doesn't show as containing the missing emails).
All of the above considered, I suspect therefore, that the missing emails are still somewhere on my computer. Anyone know where they might be and how I can recover them?
