• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have just bought an s-video to scart for my Power book cause i want to play movies on my TV. I bought the Monster Video Scart. And what i see on the tv screen is a black and white version of my desktop. But if i play the DVD on the PB it doesn't play on the TV, it only shows on the powerbook.
Can anyone tell me if i can change something in the settings to watch a dvd and have it in colour on the tv screen?Thank you,

Juan

I don't know why, but s-video is often B/W in most TVs. to view the DVD change display preferences to "mirror", or specify the full screen display in DVD player prefs.

Sounds like you need to play with the settings on your powerbook. Take a look around in System Prefrences, see what works. Try one thing at a time that way when it fixes, your settings aren't wacky. Let us know if you need more help.
