So i'm looking at picking up a power mac on ebay which will basically be used just for graphics video and music. I can get G5 dual 1.8 ghz for around 500 bucks or under, where would I look for cheap RAM to beef it up, (most of them seem to have 1 or 1.5 gb RAM and I believe they will take up to 4gb.)

Also, is it worth ditching heaps of the apps that are generally on a mac or does this cause more trouble than it's worth?

And remember G5's are fussy about Mac compatible matched pair modules. Macs use low density memory, and most PC shops sell the cheaper high density which will cause problems such as kernel panics and system freezes.
