Buy new hard drive to give new life to my old mac.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Sorry not a lot you can do to speed up your G4. You have maxed out the memory and a new hard drive, even a 7200rpm model will only make a marginal difference. Also the 133MHz system bus speed would be a bottleneck even if you spent hundreds and hundreds on a CPU upgrade.

Put the cost of the new drive towards a later model machine.
