First thing I did was throw in a little extra ram:

Followed it up with a new hard drive:

The old hard drive, I put into a case and am using it as a back up for now. I haven't really decided what to do with.

Then added a copy of parallels 5, and windows xp pro:

I know it's nothing hard core, and with the mac everything was super easy, ridiculously simple to do. But it made the machine a little more responsive. I also no longer have to lug around the windows laptop. It's nice to be able to do everything on computer, and just hook up an external monitor.

This macbook really is the best of both worlds.

I have the regular white one (early 09 version) ... according to OWC it can support up to 6GB RAM

One of the computer guys at work was able to give it to me, so it was free.

Where did you buy XP and what did it cost?

XP is still costly even though Win 7 is out. Take a look here and compare prices. Look for an OEM System Builders edition which will be somewhat less expensive.

I purchased an XP Home SP2 OEM System Builder edition from NewEgg a while back when it was on sale. $69.00 + free shipping. It's almost impossible to find a deal like that again.

Regards.

I think I like Doc750's cost better. :)
