Hey first off, apologies if this is the wrong forum for this post!
Until recently I was able to copy files from my mac (i.e. movies) onto my WD hard drive. I think it was installing snow leopard that made it impossible.
here's the rundown:
I try to drag and drop an item from my desktop to my hard drive and i get a message that says "the item 'dodgeball' can't be moved because "movies" can't be modified." then i get two options, authenticate and cancel.
i used to be able to click authenticate, enter my password, and then it would copy just fine! but now when i click authenticate it says this:
"the operation cant' be completed because backup items can't be modified."
and thats that.
the same message shows up when i try to "move to trash" from my external.
the hard drive file system is Mac OS Exteneded (journaled), this was automatic. it was never FAT32 or NTFS i don't think.
i'm puzzled because i never had this problem..
does anyone know a solution??
thanks so much for reading my post.
