20 inch Imac duel core 2 gig ram
Want to buy a new mac. I use time machine to back up my files to an external hard drive. I want to sell my old one first. Question. Can I use time machine to transfer my files from my external hard drive to the new mac.

yes, you should be able to do just that. i know that that is some feature somewhere.
