slow opening print image dialog window

using aperture with hp prob9180-until snowleopard update print image dialog window would open in 1-3 sec, now takes 10-20 sec as colors spin-
i have about 6000 images, but it just started all of a sudden. does exact
same on my laptop which only has about 200 images.
