USB hub off Ethernet, possible?!

Hi all,

I was just wondering, if it is possible to get a USB port that runs directly from my macbook's ethernet port? I have recently bought a few items that for some reason only work when plugged straight into the USB ports on my macbook, so I'm losing my USB hub with hard drives etc. on. If I can get a USB hub that would run off ethernet that would be awesome. Is this possible?! If so, could someone recommend one please!

You can always buy a USB hub that plugs into the USB on the Macbook and then plug the devices in...?

No, perhaps i didn't state it clearly enough. I have a number of devices that will not work when used with a USB hub; Audio interface, ext. DVD Drive, and a few others. So want to be able to use both ports on the macbook for those, and have a USB hub off the Ethernet, if possible.
