I dunno if this is the right place to post it but...
I am trying to connect an iBook Indigo Clamshell running Panther to my Intel MacBook running Leopard via Firewire so I can install Xubuntu on the Clamshell.
I press T on startup of the Clamshell with cables connected to both computers. The HD appears on the desktop of my MacBook. Then Finder freezes completely. It won't even restart - it just gives some 6001 error or something rather. When I remove the cable the computer continues fine, and I get a millisecond glimpse of the files on the Clamshells HD before it disconnects. I tried updating the Firewire and Firmware on the Clamshell but I can only find OS9 installs and I don't have OS9 at all on the Clamshell.
