Has or is anyone running OSX on these specs? With iLife?

How does it run? Can it run OSX. My main concern really is Garage Band.

Thank you.

minimum requirements for os x is 8 gigs of hd space and 128 mb of ram, so itll run os x, ilife should run fine, though having multiple apps open with garageband will be a problem cause of the ram, I suggest getting more if you can.

You will need to get more memory. But according to Apple's spec you may not be able to run garageband

I might try installing GarageBand temporarily on my Beige G3 315, just for comparison sake. If I do, I'll let you know.

8 gig minimum for OS X?? Where did you find that?

I had Panther with the whole iLife'04 package installed on a 6gig HD, and still had some free space...ok, not much, but at least 1.5gig.

More memory really is what you need to run OS X smoothly, with 256MB it won't (with or without GarageBand).
GarageBand can run on a G3, so I'm sure it will run on that G4, just give it more memory...but songs should not be too complex though...

o yea, I think thats for when you're partitioning a drive for multiple OS's. but panther itself takes up about 3 gigs, more if you have extra languages installed.
