Purchased iTunes movies dont play

Black MacBook, 2.2GHz , 2gb RAM, 160gb HD. iPod 5g 30gb
ive bought a video from iTunes, a TV show, and it downloaded fully, but when i tried to play it in iTunes it played just as a grey box, the time bar at the top ran as if it was playing, but the box is just grey.

is there anything that i can do to fix this?
or, can i get a refund?
