PS: i tried using other dvds as i tot mayb something's wrong with my drive but it can actually play other dvds but this!! which means THIS disc is the only disc that keeps getting ejected. & i dont think thr's anything wrong with this disc cause when i try to run this disc on my other computer it actually runs.

Look at the DVD and see if it's smudged, Scratched or full of fingerprints. If other DVD's are playing fine, that could be the issue. Have you ever used the DVD of OSX before? It could be a defective DVD.

Are you trying to reinstall OSX to factory stock?

And it helps if you tell us something about the disc - system software, retail, DVD burnt on your Mac etc.

Which leads me to think this a gray colored disk, not black; and is one that came with another Mac?

If so, those are system specific disks and it will not work.

You need to use the disk that came with that machine.

It should not eject the DVD though. Sure it will refuse to install if it's the wrong hardware but why would it eject it without even mounting it on the desktop?

Yeah, shouldn't do that.
