Can you provide a link to the Leopard "upgrade" software you speak of?

Thanks,

Thanks for the link!

I'm going to guess that the seller of this item is using the word "upgrade" liberally or in a confusing way! I don't think that they mean that it's an "upgrade" DVD...they are simply saying you can "upgrade" to Leopard with the DVD.

As far as I know...Apple did sell an "upgrade" DVD for Leopard. This "black" DVD with the big X on it is the retail version of Leopard...this is the disk you want.

I see that there are about 3 hours left in the auction...you can be pretty sure the price will shoot up towards the end.

Good luck,

- Nick

If you click on the disk for a blow up, the disk has "Upgrade DVD" printed right on the face of it. It was originally packaged/delivered to those that bought a Mac after the release of Leopard, but the machine still had Tiger on it.

Whether it will work on any Mac - ??? It definitely was intended to be used only with the specific Mac it came with.

Thanks for clearing that up...I didn't see the "blown up" picture. Kind of strange Apple didn't modify the graphics on the disk since it's an upgrade DVD. Kind of like the "gray" disks...or the "not for resale" replacement disks you can get for $16 when you call the Apple "800" number.

I would say check Ebay but be sure it's a Retail DVD.

I was also going to mention the DVD says Upgrade on it but Bobtomay beat me to it.

Be very careful in your search for a cheap DVD. If you buy one from an "unofficial source" such as EBay, make sure you're not buying a machine-specific install disc (the grey one).

No, that would be a replacement of the disk that shipped with your machine. That wouldn't be Leopard if you're currently running Panther.

Keep looking at eBay for the full retail install DVD. Cheap? Well over the sixty pounds mark. There is NO cheap Leopard.
