Sending Text Messages from PC with Iphone

Hi everyone, I have a similar problem raised by Dave. I've had a search and couldn't find an answer (maybe my search skills not up to scratch)

Basically i have an iPhone (3Gs if that makes any difference) which i keep linked up to my works laptop (Win XP) instead of having to keep typing on the phone is there any sofware that i can type on the computer.

Something like Nokia PC Suite/ Samsung PC suite etc...

Don't know if this answers your question or not, but I do know that each carrier has a way to send a text message from a computer. Something like [cell phone number] @vzw.txt for Verizon. Granted, you'd have to know what carrier your intended recipient uses, but could be useful for those where you do know their carrier.
