how can i install mac os 10.3 in a mac os 9.2

hi, i got a iMac G3 500 Mhz. 30 Gb, 128 Mb and DVD drive with Mac Os 9.2 but i cant install mac os 10.3 how can i install it?

insert install disc 1, shut down the computer with the disc still in it, start it up, while its starting, as soon as you start it, hold C on the keyboard to boot from the install disc, then follow the directions. I'd also recommend more ram as 128 is the minimum to run panther.

one more question
does it matters that the 3 cds have the Mac OS 10.3 in .dmg file?
because i know that mac os 9 does not read .dmg files

are these burned copies? cause they shouldn't be .dmg files, and os 9 does not read .dmg files. or were they .dmg and were burned as discs? it won't hurt to try to boot from them.
