I'm trying to get some pretty standard phone ringtones on to my iPhone. I've tried using some You Tube help guides, but I'm unable to get them into the Ringtones section in the library.

I have purchased a few ringtones from itunes and they are in purchased AAC format and they are all under 30 seconds long.

I opened up in explorer and changed the name file extension to m4r.

It says ringtone instead of purchased AAC now when back in itunes, but if I try and drag it over to the ringtone section of the library, all my library highlights and won't let me drop it in.

Scratching my head.

As always many thanks in advance.

Here's a screen shot, it's a pc runing vista and the latest itunes.

The answer I think led to two things.

1. Change setting to convert to AAC, I assumed because they had been purchased in AAC this would suffice.

2. The purchased AAC files from itunes seem more of an issue than non purchased??

Went through this how to guide in the end, thanks.
