Hi,
I bought an iPod Touch 8gb with the back to school offer over the summer.
I am now trying to sell it because I already have an iPod.
I've had questions about which generation it is, but there is nothing on the box about generation, and apparently 2nd and 3rd generation looks exactly the same.
I bought it in August 2009.
Anybody know I would find out?
Thankyou,
Catrin

I think it is 2nd because, if I remember correctly, the 3rd gen wasn't out in August.

I found this on the apple site.

"The iPod touch (Late 2009) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. All iPod touch models introduced in Late 2009 have two or three lines of text below the capacity engraving. The prior iPod touch (2nd generation) had four lines of text or more."
