Questions about a Power Mac G3

I have a powermac g3 with a 160 gb hardrive (I know it can only read 128gb's) and 512 mb of ram. I have been trying to install OS X 10.2 on the new hardrive but everytime I get the "Select Destination" in the installer there is no distination to select!?
How can I fix this?
The hardrive is threw IDE and it is working.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Have you formatted the drive? Boot from the CD holding down 'C" immediately after the chime. go to Utilities in the Menu Bar, select Disk Utility and format Mac OS Extended.

Also if you are using a silver grey coloured disc, be aware they will work ONLY with the machine they came with when new.

Will the mighty mouse work with a powermac g3?

I have an old powermac g3. It is blue and white. It has a 128gb HD and 512 of ram and OSX 10.2
I was wondering if you can use a mighty mouse on this system?

The USB wired version - yes.

Why not try upgrading to Panther 10.3 or better still Tiger 10.4. Jaguar 10.2 had its drawbacks.

YouTube on PowerMac G3?

Youtube on my powermac g3 lags. My friend tells me that if I let it buffer it will work. Can someone help me?

USB WLAN 2.0 on PowerMac G3?

I have this usb wlan 2.0 and I want to know if it will work with a power mac g3.
it is an encore wlan usb 2.0.

Specs:
350mhz
OSX 10.4 Tiger
546mb of ram
80gb HD

Flash video will lag on any G3 processor.
There really isn't much you can do to help it.
If you let it load first (buffer) it may play a little smoother, but it will never be 100% smooth and clear.

You're hamstrung by the processor speed more than anything else. Sometimes converting Flash to Quicktime after downloading, rather than playing in real time, helps.

download VLC media player. Take the link of the the youtube video and plug it into VLC and it should play and wont lag.

I play youtube videos on 300-400mhz g3 emacs this way and they dont really lag at all.

other than that it will for sure always lag.
