• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I am using Final Cut Studio to work on my first film.. I want to buy a monitor for viewing it on while I'm editing. Can I just buy another monitor and be able to hook it up, or do I need an editing deck, or any other hardware? Right now It's just me and my iMac. Please give any info you know!

Thanks :D

How about a spec for your iMac but macs have been able to run another monitor for eons.
My choice was a Philips 20" - built in speakers - currently same monitor is in use on my 24 iMac;

Awesome, so I can pretty much just buy a 20" display and hook it up without worrying about anything else expensive? What kind of cable is needed to connect the two?
