Java doesn't work

Running OS X 10.4.11
Java version???

I tried downloading the new version but it says my comp. doesn't need the update.

Whenever I try to upload Facebook pictures... the simple uploader won't work.
this is horrible!!!

please help asap

Your machine should have Java pre-installed. Whether it is up to date or not is a different story. As far as I know, the newest version(s) of Java available for Tiger are the ones available through "Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 9". What version of Java does this page tell you that you're running?

Right now I am on a Power PC iMac G5 with 10.5.8. It says I have Java 5 Update 20.

Did you wait a bit? At first it takes maybe 20-30 seconds for what you saw to go away and the above to appear.
