I was replacing my lcd screen on my black macbook and while I was attempting to put my inverter cable I accidentally sliced part of the Lcd Ribbon. Now when I turn on my screen there is a vertical green line on the right side and blue dots scattered across the screen. First question is, do you think this is caused by the ribbon? Second question, where can I get a replacement for it? Third, how to I replace it.

-Thank you

Very likely caused by the cut ribbon cable. It's a wonder it works at all.

Replacement ribbon cable HERE or possibly you can find one on eBay. Same place that sells the cable also has instructions on how to do repairs. I don't know if you'll find a specific step by step for the ribbon replacement itself, but removing and replacing the display instructions should help.

Regards.
