So I transferred a tv show from my HD DVR to my Mac and its file extension is ".m2t". I was told that you can edit/play ".m2t" files, and I would assume .MPEG files as well with MPEG Streamclip. But it won't play or edit either type of file. I did convert the original .m2t file to MPEG with MPEG Streamclip though.
What I wanted to know was if there was a free program that I could download that allows me to edit those file types, where I can cut out the commercials and stuff like that. And also to make it smaller, so that the file size isn't so big. I would like to burn it onto a DVD and watch it on an Standard Definition TV. Right now the file is over 20GB.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
