Glitch from Boot Camp?

So a while back I began the process of installing Windows via Boot Camp. I (being new with Macs) had some difficulty installing Windows after partitioning the hard drive and just put the process on hold. Since the hard drive was partitioned, I still had to hold the Alt/Option key during start up to select OSX or Windows. If I didn't hold this button, the (off-) white screen would load and then a black screen would appear and I would get a message saying there were no bootable devices and to install one (or something along those lines). At this point, I would hold the power key and restart holding the Alt/Option key to select OSX. In addition, when it went to the black screen, the Mac start-up tone wouldn't play. (If I held the button, it did play.)

I recently decided to just get Parallels instead and uninstalled the partition via Boot Camp. I still have to deal with the same problem though, only now I only have the option of OSX. I don't usually restart my computer, but it is a nuisance. Any advice on how to stop this?

Use the Boot Camp assistant to remove the partition you created for Windows and never used. Applications -> Utilities -> Boot Camp Assistant.app. Select create partition, restore.

Regards.
