I have a shiny 24" iMac running 10.6 and after starting it up, tried using migration assistant to migrate my old 17" iMac (also Core Duo, 10.4.11)
Everytime I try about halfway through I get an error message saying to "check my connection" - (the connection is fine) and basically the migration eventually stalls - b/w cycling this message and trying to transfer the remaining contents. I get about 65% of the way through before this starts to happen,
I tried unplugging my external HD, since Ive read that can be an issue, but the problem persists.
Im running the migration through an ethernet cable.
Any suggestions?
Should I reboot my new Mac to factory status and then do the migration as soon as I start it up?
Any advice most appreciated, thanks!
