I just bought a monitor online that has both DIV-I and VGA input. To set this up with my 13" MBP, can I use a mini DVI to DVI-D cable from the Apple store? Or will I need to buy something different?
I've been looking around online but can't find a definitive answer, and given it's 2:45am I can't really call up a store to ask! :p

No, you need a mini display port to DVI connector, there is no other way.
If you can't get one second hand I believe it'll set you back 25 to 30$ for a new one.

$45 from the AU Apple Store... but $32.95 from the authorised resellers! Cool. Thanks for your help :)
