Mac HD icon came up on startup?

For the first time ever today the Mac HD icon came up on my Macbook on startup and I had to click on it. Does anyone know why it came up? Thank you.

Maybe because you did not specify the startup disk, and have other startup options...
I'm not 100% sure though...

Or you may have inadvertently pressed the Option key after booting.
