I just looked at the specs of the new macbook (the white one) and when I compared it with the specs of the mac mini, the only difference I could see was that the macbook has more memory. So why is that? Is the macbook actually better than the the desktop mac mini? Or did I forget/not notice something?

- 2005 G4 Mini & 2014 Mini & 2020 M1 Mini
I think they both have 2 gigs of memory. I think they are identical spec wise(new low end mini). Just comes down to if you want a laptop or not; and cost.

If you want a Desktop, get the Mini. If you need a notebook and portability, get the Macbook.
