Hey guys,

I am trying to buy RAM off Amazon.com for my Macbook and my iMac. I've been told a dozen times over from users all over the internet to check and double check the model number of my Macs, because I can't just buy any RAM off the market and expect them to work with my Macs. Anyway, I am using a white Macbook that I purchased in August 2007, and I believe I have nailed the model number and everything just right.

The problem is that I am overseas right now, and I don't have access to my iMac back home until I get back in two months. I'd like to purchase a pair of RAM for that one too, but I am wondering if anybody can tell me the model number of my iMac. I bought it in December of 2007, and it'd be really helpful if somebody can help me out.

And, just to check, I am buying two 1GB sticks for my white Macbook, and is the Crucial 2GB Set(2x1GB) 200-Pin PC2 5300 667Mhz SODIMM DDR2 RAM correct?

Thanks!

The iMacs being sold in December of 2007 were the mid 2007 models. They were either 2.0 or 2.4GHz and came with either 1GB or 2GB of memory. The memory specs are 667MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SO-DIMM. Maximum capacity is 4GB.

This means you should just get the same RAM you're getting for your Macbook.
