Your Mac's Specs
MacBook Pro 17" LED-Backlite display, 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory, 512MB VRAM, 320GB HD
So I have a question about the video card, I see that according to apple the new 27" sports an ATI HD 4850 Graphics card. Now my question is, is this an actual PCI card? or is this like an iMac specific graphics chip?

I believe it is an actual discrete PCI card, but specifically for iMac's.
Did you mean to ask if you could put it in a MacPro?

I'm 99.9% sure it's a logic board mounted GPU processor that is not upgradeable.
