Can I connect my Mac to a DFP Monitor?

The screen on my Macbook Pro is broken. I have a Gateway FPD1500 monitor that only has a DFP outlet. Could I connect my Mac to this display, it has DVI. Would the picture automatically show up on the monitor, or would I have to press some sort of shortcut key?
