I'm looking at moving from a MacBook Pro with a CoreDuo to one with a 2.2 GHz Core2Duo, which identifies itself in system_profiler as a MacBookpro3,1.

The guidelines on Apple's site are pretty unclear to me, referring primarily to the time the laptop was built to know if it will take more memory or not. This is a company laptop, so I don't have the faintest idea when it's from.

I'd like to upgrade to 4GB RAM (I'm stuck at 2GB with the current machine), but I don't want to buy a pair of 2GB sticks and find out that the machine will only see 3GB, so I was hoping someone a bit more in tune could confirm whether or not whether a "MacBookPro3,1" (2.2 GHz Core2Duo) will see a full 4GB RAM? (Both machines are currently at 2x1GB DIMMs, so I have to buy 2x2's to get to 4.) Thanks in advance!
