my macbook has 2 gb of ram, and consistantly uses about 75% of the ram, but never all of it. my question is, will i benefit by adding more ram, or would i only benefit if my macbook was using 100% of the ram at times

I'ld say it's a borderline call. If 75% is the highest your ram usage goes, you're probably ok...but if occasionally or frequently it goes higher...then maybe a ram upgrade to 4 gig might be a good idea.

This is assuming your MacBook can be upgraded to 4 gig of ram.

Also...when your MacBook is utilizing 75% of the ram...do you have any applications open that might be unnecessary? Because obviously if you were running short on ram, you could close unnecessary programs to free up some ram for the programs that need it.

Hope this helps,

- Nick
