iPhoto won't let me delete photo's

15" MBP macOS Big Sur....iPad Air 2 64gB....iPhone 8+
The delete from album selection is greyed out and I can't drag the photo to either trash can. Any suggestions?

Never mind I figured out what I was doing wrong. Thanks anyway
