Windows - Mac transfering files?

Hey folks, ive a file on my windows laptop that i want to transfer to my mac, its too big to email how do i do it? when i connect the laptop to my mac it doesnt detect the laptop :| ?

Silver M1 iMac 512/16/8/8 macOS 11.6
Try a formatted memory stick. When connected go to Disk Utility amnd format as FAT 32.
