problem opening attachments

When I try to open a mail attachment by clicking "quick look", the document displays jibberish. i.e. random words and characters. Any idea what that's about?

No idea what it is about, more info needed - Leopard or Snow Leopard and what type of attachments - Mail, Entourage, Gmail or what. Info = Help, so paint a picture that is understandable.

If it's the problem my fried had (I'd need a screenshot to see), then it's most likely a corrupt font.
Please grab a screen shot of the problem, and Yes, let us know what version OS please.

I have safari v. 4.0.3 and the attachments are mail attachments: a WMV plain text document. And here is the screen shot: Thank you.
