Apparent widespread Time Capsule defect

It caught my attention this morning that there is an extremely high failure rate for the Time Capsule, typically after about 18 months of service. The problem is so widespread that an organization has actually produced a "Dead Time Capsule Memorial".

Since we have so many parties here that are considering a Time Capsule, I thought I would relay the message that there are some very real reliability issues for this premium-priced product. It's even more disconcerting that many are relying on this device to protect valuable data.

So, if you happen to run across this thread while researching the device, or currently own one please be forewarned.
