PB G4 1.67 Ghz, 15", it's not recognizing my RAM

Help! My PB G4 has stopped "seeing" the lower slot of RAM. First, I opened and switched the sticks (1GB in each slot, added at the same time last year). Same result, so it's not the RAM sticks.

Then ran AHT and got this message: post/0/2048 SODIMM 0/J25LOWER

Seems to be telling me what I already knew, the computer isn't accessing the lower slot of RAM.

So, is this repairable? By me? Or, is do I need to learn to live with 1GB from now on, until I can upgrade?
