MacBook Pro 17" LED-Backlite display, 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB memory, 512MB VRAM, 320GB HD
between the new MacBook and the lowest model MacBook pro besides the enclosure?

Also, you get a bigger hard drive with the MacBook over the pro? why?

So... where is the incentive to pay $200 extra for the lowest model MacBook Pro?

Don't the Pros still have a backlit keyboard? That might be another difference.

Yes, now it does.

Other differences, aside from the aesthetics...

The Pros typically have a much higher quality screen (although I haven't seen the screen on the new MacBooks yet since they just came out today). Also, the Pros have an SD slot and a Firewire port.

Aside from that... not much. Sort of hoping Apple either bumps the specs up on the 13" Pro or lowers the price.

Hopefully both? >_>" I rather have a spec upgrade though.

While probably not worth the $200 difference - if I'm buying one of the 2 lower end machines - I'd have to spend the extra cash.

Oh, the more things change... the more they stay the same.

I remember this very same question being asked when the iBooks came very close in specs to the 12" PowerBooks.

Linky-poo

The question and answer from then is still the same:
" So is all that worth an additional $XXX? That depends on your needs."
