Will leaving the Macbook Pro connected to the battery charger after battery fully charged damage the battery or lessen its life?

Absolutely not. But be sure to unplug it AT LEAST once a month and let it completely drain. (I recommend doing it once a week) You can plug it in while it's charged all you want, just make sure you use your laptop as it was designed (a portable computer) every once and a while, and you should be fine.

I've used my battery a lot.. ~500 charge cycles and have had my battery for almost 2 and a half years and I still have 72% health. :)
