Greetings,

I've recently needed my PPC G3 ibook (466Mz/320MbRAM) machine in order to run a Classic app. Granted, Ive not used it in at least 3yrs but its still more than operable running 10.3.9.

I tried to start OS9 from 10.3 and i get the error msg that Classic can't find Mac OS9 system folder on the startup disk. I want to keep the drive partitioned so that I can run both Classic and 10.3 (which Im sure I did do many years ago).

I'd thought doing a Clean Install would do the trick but OSX Disk Utilities wont let me choose the Fix OS9 Permissions.. (no OS9 system folder).

I have the original install disks (OS 9.1) but to be honest when I got my first ibook I had been a PC user and am not so familiar with Classic. Should I just restore Classic 9.1??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

You need OS 9 9.2 for classic

That said you could install 9.1 and upgrade it for free, you can also boot strait into OS9 without partitioning if both OS9 and X are on the same drive
