Hello, I just reinstalled windows by going through bootcamp to erase the partition and recreated the windows partition then followed the windows xp install. (note: ive done this about 5 times for other people already and never ran into a problem, including this very laptop)

So after the window's install, i pop in the MAC cd and it installs the windows bootcamp drivers. afterwards, none of the drivers work. i really don't know what i could be doing wrong. ive tried downloading the xp bootcamp drivers off of a torrent site and also tried the bootcamp 2.1 update. and i still have issues. ive reinstalled windows again and ran the windows bootcamp drivers and i am still having the same issue.

i will attach some screen shots. some help would be greatly appreciated as i am pulling my hair out as we speak.

also, another quick question. are the bootcamp drivers the same on every macbook's mac os disk? Just wondering as there was a low, mid and high model macbook 13".

It looks like just about every driver you need has not been installed. Let's start at square one:

Is the version of XP you installed compatible with Boot Camp? In other words, is it a genuine MS boxed full install version of Home\Pro SP2 or SP3, or a System Builders OEM full install version of Home\Pro SP2 or SP3?

If it's an eligible version, there's no reason the drivers are not being installed provided you're using the correct install DVD for your machine.

To answer your other question... Later model MacBook and MBP install disks had different drivers according to the hardware on the machine. For example my April 2008 MacBook Leopard install DVD does not contain the necessary drivers for the later model MacBook with the nVidia chipset. However, the Boot Camp 2.1 update for XP does contain those drivers.

Regards.

its an official copy. it worked on this same laptop before. i think we just need the correct CD that came with the laptop for the bootcamp drivers to work with the correct hardware. I assumed all the bootcamp drivers should have covered the different hardware the laptops came with. bad assumption :(

thanks for ur help!
