When attempting to download software from a web site, my screen goes black immediately I hit the 'download' button.

It has been suggested that it's a download manager problem, but that's rather too vague for me.

Using Snow Leopard on an Intel iMac; Safari 4.0.3

Anxiously awaiting wise counsel......[email protected]

And are you using an after market manager such as the dreaded Speed Download?

Software as diverse as Time Machine Buddy and Firefox won't download; any and all websites; cable (RoadRunner) connexion; and it began with the installation of Snow Leopard around two weeks ago.

Problem solved. The source of the misery was a couple of Netscape plugins left over from years ago and lurking in the internet plugin file.

Thank you everyone for your help.
