Well I performed an regular hardware test as well as an extended one and no trouble was found. What I don't get is all these issues started when I installed snow leopard. I was using tiger before.

It only seems to slow down where I have a few things open at the same time. Where before this was never an issue. However, my main concern at this point is just trying to get the iTunes to work properly because I use this mac to DJ and I need it for tonight. It will play songs but it always pauses for a few seconds on every single song at 16 seconds and 24 seconds.

Here is the latest log:

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
I get that on two files, even after a clean install. I think it's a Snow Leopard bug.

It's definitely a snow leopard bug..... and frustrating as the list of safe to ignore permissions from apple leaves it as nothing more than safe to ignore! Argh

Sorry, just had to add that to this thread!

So is there anyway to fix it if its a bug?

I guess I will try to repair the permissions again since it ended up freezing last night

When you upgraded to Snow Leopard, how did you go about doing it? Did you just pop the disc in and let it do its thing, or did you do a clean install?

If the former, you may want to make a full backup to an external using something like SuperDuper. Then, boot off the Snow Leopard disc, erase your drive using Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Then, do a clean install. After the install completes, you'll be given the option to use Migration Utility to transfer files from "another volume on this Mac". At that point, connect the external drive and do just that. That will bring in all of your old documents/data/applications.

Do you have to use a external drive for SuperDrive? I would assume so if that's the case I need to buy one.

You will need another hard drive to clone your current hard drive to, whether it be another internal drive or an external drive. Note that anything on this secondary drive (the one you are cloning your current HD to) will have everything erased.

For this purpose, SuperDuper. Much faster and the backup is bootable.

That's fine. I was just trying to help you future proof it so that you can take full advantage of the extra storage space. SuperDuper! needs a dedicated partition to use. So, if you want to store anything else on the drive, you'll need to make multiple partitions. Not a big deal for right now - we can always go back and repartition later.

For right now, your best bet is to get a good full backup just in case that drive has issues, and also to use to import your data back after the clean install.

Slow

Hi mate
"System/library/core.... "you can safely ignore this one, its not an issue according to apple, comes up on mine too
Kodak EasyShare-Get rid of this one, you can always install again if it doesnt work, make sure ALL associated files are trashed too
Also, look at System Prefs, your user account, login items, disable third party programs from startup and try again.

Ok next question, can I do a clean install with just the 29 dollar upgrade version? I had tiger and upgraded to snow leopard that way. I have read conflicting information online. Some say you can do a clean install with just that disc. Others say that the box set is required. I am at work right now and plan on doin the clean install when I get home. Thanks for your help guys
