What version/type of Windows XP disk are you using - exactly? SP1? SP2? SP3? Upgrade disk? manufacturer's OEM disk? System Builder OEM disk?

This looks like you are using an upgrade disk and the system can't find the prior installed version. That definitely won't work in boot camp (requires a single disk, full retail or system builder OEM version of SP2 or SP3), and you can't use an upgrade disk in Fusion or Parallels either.

Cheers

Have read about this error being fixed in multiple locations by simply cleaning the disc.

The work around for this error, likely will not work with a BootCamp installation.

If the legal cd is too damaged, request a replacement :)
