Seems like we are a diverse crowd here at Mac-Forums, and I though it would be sorta neat if we shared some of our favorite song lyrics. The kind of music you listen to says quite a bit about you and this might help us "get to know" each other a little better. Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by the Old 97s, "Big Brown Eyes"
Big brown eyes, and a gust of wind,
And the cherry burns the corner of the page that says ";The end
Is coming soon,"; but not soon enough.
Restring all your guitars. Pack up all your stuff.

'Cause if Robert's dad is right,
We might not make it through the night,
And I'd hate to go alone.
Please pick up the phone.

Well a box of red, and a pill or three,
And I'm calling time and temperature just for some company.
I wish you were here. I wish I was too.
I'll drink myself to sleeplessness, I always do.

You don't want me anymore,
Since fame and fortune broke down our door.
You don't give me no respect.
What did I expect?

If that phone don't ring one more time,
I'm gonna lose what's left of my mind.
You made a big impression for a girl of your size,
Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.

Her hands are cold, her breath is warm,
She's a port in a storm.
I'm worried now, but it won't be long.
It takes a worried man, you know, to sing a worried song.

I've got issues, yeah.
Like I miss you, yeah.
And I wish I weren't so thick.
I'm making myself sick.

If that phone don't ring one more time,
I'm gonna lose what's left of my mind.
You made a big impression for a girl of your size,
Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.

Firstly D3v1L80Y i like the demo's you did in garageband (the ones on your site) nice :)

Here are a couple of my fav songs from one of my fav bands Anti-Flag ,
"You Can Kill The Protestor, But You Can't Kill The Protest"
You can spoon my eyes out,
but I can still see through you
Slice my ears from my head,
but you can not shut out the sounds of truth
Lock off each hand at the wrist
so I can't raise my fist!

you can kill the protestor (can't kill)
you can't kill the protest
you can murder the rebel (murder)
you can't murder the rebellion

Sawed my feet at the ankles, but i wasnt going to run
Grabbed my face, sliced off my tongue
Lock off each hand at the wrist,
so I can't raise my fist!

you can kill the protestor (can't kill)
you can't kill the protest
you can murder the rebel (murder)
you can't murder the rebellion

LYING STILL NOW, NO WAY TO SPEAK. NOTHING TO FEAR, BULLETS CAN'T SILENCE IDEAS!
"Wake Up!"
If I had a lighter in hands
With some oily rags
Is that what it'd take
To wake you from your sleep?
Woke up from your American dreams
To be surrounded
Surrounded in flames!

You got to SCREAM
TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
AND I WON'T STOP SCREAMING
UNTIL MINE IS HEARD!
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!

YEAH!

And if we blocked the streets
Everyday
Face down on the pavement
As we lay
You're angered
That you're five minutes late.
What happens next time
When we will stop you all day?
Yeah, next time
When we will stop you all day?

You got to SCREAM
TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
AND I WON'T STOP SCREAMING
UNTIL MINE IS HEARD!
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you
Wake Up!
Wake Up!
To the world around you

and it's the same song, sung
Sung at the top of our lungs
SCREAMING FOR FREEDOM
PLEADING FOR LIBERTY
SCREAMING FOR FREEDOM
PLEADING FOR LIBERTY
SCREAMING FOR FREEDOM
PLEADING FOR LIBERTY
FREEDOM!

Sorry if it's super long .

No Hope

I've lived my life on the edge of a knife,
And I can't give it up.

In the fast lane of misery and pain,
And I can't give it up.

I've had a good time on the weeds and the wine,
And I can't give it up.

I've been up and down, below and above ground,
And I can't give it up,
And I can't give it up.

Better under the table than under the ground,
And I can't give it up.

I like what I take, but my life's a mistake,
And I can't give it up.

It all went wrong the day I was born,
And I can't give it up.

I've tried to invest, but my life was a mess,
And I can't give it up,
And I can't give it up.

It's hard to refuse, when there is nothing to lose,
And I can't give it up.

I need to drink more, cause my life's such a bore,
And I can't give it up.

I've had my fill and I made out my will,
And I can't give it up.

I drink all I can cause it makes me a man,
And I can't give it up,
And I can't give it up

The Presence of the Lord is Here by Byron Cage
Lead: The Presence of the Lord is here, the presence of the lord is here,
I feel it in the atmosphere, the presence of the lord is here, the presence of the lord is here

Choir: The presence of the Lord is here, the presence of the lord is here,
I feel it in the atmosphere, the presence of the lord is here,
The presence of the lord …is here. (spirit, power) key change on each verse.

Chorus: Everybody blows the trumpet and sound the alarm
Because the Lord is in the temple let everybody bow
Let all the people praise Him now
The Lord … is here

A blessing from the Lord is here, a blessing from the Lord is here
I feel it in the atmosphere, a blessing from the lord is here
A blessing from the lord …is here

Chorus: Watch special part: The lord …is here
Vamp: I can feel the presence of the Lord, and I’m going to get my blessing right now.
REPEAT and Watch
The Presence of the Lord is HERE!!!

On a bus ride into town, I wondered out loud, "Why am I going to town?"
As I looked around at the billboards and the stores I thought, "Why do I look around?"
And I kissed the filthy ground...the first dry spot I found...
I didn't have to wonder why I was laying down.

Before long I was too cold...took a bus back to the station,
I found a letter left by a pay phone with no return contact
And it read like a horn blown by some sad angel,
"Bunny, it was me...it was me who let you down"
It was the shyest attempt I'd ever seen at conversation.

But if I didn't have You as my guide, I'd still wander lost in Sinai,
Counting the plates of cars from out-of-state,
How I could jump in their path as they hurry along!
And You surround me, You're pretty but You're all I can see
Like a thick fog...
If there was no way into God,
I would never have laid in this grave of a body for so long.

And St. Cyril's fair always came through the first week of September
But it's already the 19th...and there's no sign of it...
Yet I have a hard time remembering all the things I should remember
And a hard time forgetting all the things that I was supposed to forget.
And, Christ, when You're ready to come back,
Then I think I'm ready for You to come back;
But if You want to stay wherever exactly it is You are,
That's okay, too...it's, it's really none of my business.

And if I didn't have You as my guide, I'd still wander lost in Sinai
Or down by the tracks watching trains go by
To remind me: there are places that aren't here.
And I had a well but all the water left,
So I'll go ask Your forgiveness with every breath,
And if there was no way into God,
I would never have laid in this grave of a body...so long, dear.

i dont have no mac's
omg...where do we start.

lets go with the donnie darko soundtrack song by gary jules "mad world"
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going no where
Going no where
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression
No expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow
No tomorrow
And I find I kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday
Happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen
Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me
No one new me
Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson
Look right through me
Look right through me
And I find I kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
Mad world
Mad world
Enlarging your world
Mad world

Here's another..."Little Conversations" by Concrete Blonde
The Little Conversation, is over very soon
And I watch in admiration, from my corner of the room.
They shine on you with starry eyes...They rain a friendly storm.
They're like kids around a Christmas tree, and then you smile all nice and warm
These Little Conversations...
If I tried my very best, you know I never could say anything, in twenty words or less.
Somewhere, sometime, down the line someday I may confess, and tell you all. That's all
The Little Conversations, on me are very rough
They leave me all in pieces, you know there's never time enough
Its like a book with missing pages, a story incomplete
Its like a painting left unfinished, it feels like not enough to eat.
Starvin'
You know these little conversations, well for me they'll never do
Now what am I supposed to do with broken sentences of you?
I'll stay in my corner `cause that's all that I can do
and let the others speak for me.
Little Conversations are We.

Lulu Santos - "Como Uma Onda"

Como Uma Onda
(Lulu Santos - Nelson Motta)

Nada do que foi sera
de novo do jeito que ja foi um dia
tudo passa
tudo sempre passara
a vida vem em ondas como uma mar
no indo e vindo, infinito
tudo que se ve nao e igual
ao que a gente viu ha um Segundo
tudo muda o tempo todo
no mundo
nao adianta fugir
nem mentir pra si mesmo agora
ha tanta vida la for a
aqui dentro
sempre
como uma onda no mar...

Nothing that once was, will be
the same way that it once had been
everything passes
everything will always pass
life comes in waves like an ocean
in an infinite coming and going
everything that we see is not the same
as we lived in a second
everything changes all the time
around the world
there is no use to run away
nor lie to yourself now
there is much life out there
and in here
always
like waves in the ocean

My favorite song of all time is "Rain" by The Beatles (surprise, surprise). :flower:

If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead,
If the rain comes, if the rain comes.
When the sun shines they slip into the shade,
And sip their lemonade,
When the sun shines, when the sun shines.
Rain, I don't mind,
Shine, the weather's fine.
I can show you that when it starts to rain,
Everything's the same,
I can show you, I can show you.
Rain, I don't mind,
Shine, the weather's fine.
Can you hear me that when it rains and shines,
It's just a state of mind,
Can you hear me, can you hear me?

Dispatch - The General said:
There was a decorated General with a heart of gold
That likened him to all the stories he told
Of past battles won and lost
And legends of old
A seasoned veteran in his own time.
On the battlefield he gained respectful fame
With many medals of bravery and stripes to his name
He grew a beard as soon as he could
To cover the scars on his face
And always urged his men on

But on the eve of great battle with the infantry in dream
The old general tossed in his sleep
And wrestled with its meaning
He awoke from the night to tell what he had seen
And walked slowly out of his tent.

All the men held tall with their chests in the air
With a courage in their blood
And a fire in their stare
It was a grey morning and they all wondered how they would fare
'Til the old general told them to go home.

He said,
"I have seen the others
And I have discovered
that this fight is not worth fighting
And I've seen their mothers
And I will no other
to follow me where I'm going.
So take a shower and shine your shoes
You've got no time to lose
You are young men you must be living.
Take a shower and shine your shoes
You've got no time to lose
You are young men you must be living.
Go now you are forgiven."

Yeah...

But the men stood fast with their guns on their shoulders
Not knowing what to do with the contradicting orders
The General said he would do his own duty
But he would extend it no further
The men could go as they pleased
But not a man moved
their eyes gazed straight ahead
'Til one by one they stepped back and not a word was said
The old General was left with his own words
Echoing in his head
He then prepared to fight

He said,
"I have seen the others
And I have discovered
that this fight is not worth fighting
No, and I've seen their mothers
And I will no other to follow me where I'm going
So take a shower and shine your shoes
You've got no time to lose
You are young men you must be living.
Take a shower and shine your shoes
You've got no time to lose
You are young men you must be living.
Go now you are forgiven."

Yeah...

Go now you are forgiven
Go now you are forgiven
Go now you are forgiven
Go

Go now you are forgiven
Go now you are forgiven
Go now you are forgiven
Go oh

Go now you are forgiven
Go now you are forgiven
Go now you got to be got to be got to be got to be got to be yeah

Definitely one of my favorite songs...really was sad to see the band call it quits this summer...at least I was at the final show

I have a few, but this one is Running Blind, by Godsmack.
Can’t find the answers
I’ve been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
Promises have been turned to lies
Can’t even be honest inside
Now I’m running backward
Watching my life wave me goodbye

Running blind
I’m running blind
Somebody help me see I’m running blind

Searching for nothing
Wondering if I’ll change
I’m trying everything
But everything still stays the same
I thought if I showed you I could fly
Wouldn’t need anyone by my side
Now I’m running backward
With broken wings I know I’ll die

Running blind
I’m running blind
Somebody help me see I’m running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind

I can’t find the answers
I’ve been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
I’m running blind
Running blind...

Losing my religion by R.E.M. To be honest i like all R.E.M songs loads and i couldnt pick a favorite but people seem to like this song so here's the lyrics!

Life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
