Switching Networks

Hi.
I spend 50% of my computer time at university and 50% at home.
At home, my Mac directly connects to the wi-fi network and I do not need to setup any proxies. It automatically detects them.

At the university, I need to connect through a secure VPN client which asks for a username and a password to connect to the network. I use "Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client" to do this. I have to configure my browser's proxies through an automatic proxy configuration URL provided by the university. It does the task through some .pac file.

Everything works fine except the fact that every time i switch the networks, I have to go to tools-networks-proxies of my browser and change the settings. Is there a way to automatize this?

Not sure if it would work, but you could try have two separate locations and have different settings for each one. You can switch between locations in your Network settings.

You have to share your secret for getting the Cisco client to work! I haven't been able to get my company vpn working on my Macbook because the Cisco Anyconnect client won't connect.
