DVD Conversion Software

I have a DVD of my daughters ultrasound that was given to me by her hospital. It is not copyrighted, so I am wanting to find a good software that will allow me to convert the DVD to an .avi or other file for uploading to a personal website that I created for my new grandaughter.

Can anyone give me some suggestions on the best software to use, preferrably FREE?

Is it pretty easy to use? I tried a free version of DVD Decryptor and it's like you have to be an I.T. guru to understand the conversion process.

What do they mean by GUI or CLI for the downloading of the file?

Handbrake is fairly easy to use.... you'll want the 'GUI' - graphical user interface - rather than CLI which is a command line interface ie typing lovely long commands into a terminal window with switches and whatnot.... old school!
