I connected my Macbook pro to a Verbatim external harddrive and the "Time Machine" program made a back up of the internal harddrive. I then tried to drag and drop some file and folders to the Verbatim external hardrive, but could not do that. What I am looking for is to get a external hardrive and just use it as a secondary hardrive where I can move some files over (not a backup), since the harddrive in my Macbook pro is getting full. Any suggestions how to set that up ?

Any external drive formatted to Mac Os Extended will suffice, as it will just show up as a drive on your desktop, and you can drag and drop at will to it.
